Southern Memoir. Southern History. Southern Thrillers.
Kari Glen Press is the home of two writers who met as young reporters, spent decades in Georgia classrooms, and never stopped telling stories.
Between them, Phyllis McCoy Lightle and Bill Lightle have written eighteen books. Most are rooted in the South. You’ll find memoir and poetry that trace family roots from Scottish castles to Alabama cotton mills. You’ll find histories and biographies of the preachers, mill workers, athletes, and ordinary people who shaped the region. You’ll also find the seven John Maynard and Abby Sinclair thrillers, set along the dark rivers and back roads of South Georgia and North Florida. Two books travel north to the Indiana of Bill’s early boyhood, before his family moved to Albany, Georgia.
Whatever the setting, these books share a reporter’s eye for the truth and a teacher’s love of a good story. Some will make you laugh, some will break your heart, and many will do both as they ask who we are, where we came from, and what we owe one another.
